Modern Greece is an extremely interesting country. However, for a land with such historical and cultural depth (regional diversity, population exchange, civil war, dictatorship, rich folk tradition, literature, music, art and the list goes on..), I’ve been surprised and frustrated by how few public lectures on these topics in Athens are offered in English. Information often isn’t centralised, translated, or sometimes even talked about. So I’ve started Salon Athina to help fill that gap.

I have a vision to create a community of like-minded people who are passionate about this remarkable country, who want to come together to make friends, learn from experts, discuss fascinating subjects and help make this information accessible to anyone who’s curious.

The only prerequisite is curiosity.

We’re starting small with informal salon-style evenings in Athens.

Each gathering is led by an expert who generously shares their insight on a topic our community is excited to explore.
